2025 AKS Graduate Fellowship in Korea (750,000 KRW stipend available)

The AKS Graduate Fellowship is a non-degree, six-month research program organized by The Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) in Korea. The fellowship invites outstanding international graduate students enrolled in Korean studies-related programs to conduct independent research under academic supervision at AKS. This program enables participants to gain deeper insights into Korean culture, society, and history while fostering international scholarly collaboration.

The 2025 fellowship cycle runs from September 1, 2025, to February 28, 2026. It is an excellent opportunity to develop your academic career while experiencing Korea through a fully funded opportunity.

Eligibility Criteria for 2025 AKS Graduate Fellowship in Korea (750,000 KRW stipend available)

(Nationality) either a foreign national or a Korean national who has completed education outside of Korea
(Educational Background) Applicants are enrolled in a Master’s or a doctoral degree program; or completed coursework and are in the status of ABD (All But Dissertation) in a Master's degree program
ABD students in a doctoral degree program at an overseas university are NOT eligible.
(Research Topic) Korea/Korean studies

How to Apply

The Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) of the Republic of Korea is planning to run the 「2025 AKS Graduate Fellowship」 for six months from September 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026.
