2025 FP4A NextGen Foreign Policy Initiative for America's

Foreign Policy for America’s NextGen Initiative works to spotlight and support diverse young leaders from across the country. By supporting rising experts and activists in our community, we’re identifying, connecting, and mentoring the next generation of leaders who can advance principled American engagement in the world.

NextGen is a community of action, led by our volunteer co-chairs and organized through issue working groups and city-specific local networks. Competitive applicants will showcase both compelling expertise and experience but also a desire to participate actively in our community.

NextGen members also have access to tailored mentorship initiatives and an extraordinary network of members and advisors. In addition, NextGen members have the opportunity to engage across the full range of FP4A efforts, including community events, advocacy, and political activities. Foreign Policy for America’s annual Leadership Summit creates a unique opportunity to convene all of our members across the country.

Members contribute annual dues on a sliding scale from $75 to $95 to help support operating costs associated with programming. Dues waiver or reduction may be available upon request.

Eligibility Criteria for 2025 FP4A NextGen Foreign Policy Initiative for America's

1. Applicants must be a U.S. person and between 21-35 years old as of July 1, 2025.
2. NextGen members are eligible to remain in the cohort until they turn 37.
