The DAAD Study Scholarships offer you the opportunity to continue your education in Germany with a postgraduate or continuing course of study in the field of architecture.

The DAAD Scholarship in Architecture also promote the exchange of experience and networking amongst colleagues.

In this study programme, you can complete;

  1. a Master’s degree/postgraduate degree leading to a final qualification
  2. or
  3. a complementary course that does not lead to a final qualification (not an undergraduate course);

at a state or state-recognized German university of your choice.

Eligibility Criteria for 2026 DAAD Study Scholarships in Architecture For Masters Students (Fully Funded)

To be considered for the DAAD Study Scholarships in Architecture, applicants must be students who:

  1. have gained a first university (Bachelor’s) degree in the areas of;
  2. Architecture, Interior Design, Monument Conservation and Building in Existing Contexts/Reconditioning of Old Buildings, Urban Planning/Urban Development, Landscape Architecture, Landscape Planning at the latest by the time they commence their scholarship-supported study programme.
  3. clearly show motivation and strong commitment;
  4. have thorough knowledge of the language of instruction. Check out our website.;

Funding for a Master’s degree programme/a postgraduate degree programme that has already started in Germany cannot be granted.

Required Documents for 2026 DAAD Scholarship in Architecture

To apply, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents:

  1. DAAD application form duly filled in (available in the DAAD-Portal)
  2. Curriculum Vitae
  3. Bachelor’s degree certificate, including the final grade
  4. Transcripts for all semesters of the Bachelor’s degree programme (if possible)
  5. Motivation letter (DAAD form) [docx-file] explaining:
  6. previous academic career (including a listing of universities and study programmes attended);
  7. motivation for the application.
  8. Copy of the passport
  9. If available, a letter of acceptance from the host university in Germany.
  10. If you have not yet received notification of admission at the time of application, you must submit this before the funding period begins.
