Aalborg University 2025 PhD Scholarship in Digital Mental Health in China

The Department of Politics and Society, Aalborg University, invites applications for a PhD stipend in digital mental health in China. The PhD stipend is part of the Sino-Danish Centre’s Social Science Program, which is a collaboration between Danish Universities and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). The PhD student gets a unique opportunity to obtain a double PhD degree from both Aalborg University and UCAS while working in an interdisciplinary and international environment. The PhD candidate will be required to stay a minimum of 12 months at UCAS in Beijing.

Eligibility Criteria for Aalborg University 2025 PhD Scholarship in Digital Mental Health in China

  1. The candidate should hold a master’s degree in Anthropology, Sociology, Science and Technology Studies, China Studies, Psychology, or related fields.
  2. Chinese language competencies and experience with qualitative fieldwork will be considered an advantage.
  3. Chinese citizens (including those from Mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) cannot apply for PhD scholarships funded by the Danish SDC office but must apply for positions made available through the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in accordance with Chinese national regulations.
  4. Documents Required for Application

    Your application must include the following:

    o Application, stating reasons for applying and qualifications in relation to the position,

    o Curriculum Vitae (CV)

    o Diplomas (bachelor's and master's degree diplomas)

    o Project description (maximum 4 pages characters, excluding references)

    o Applicants who are planning to complete a doctoral thesis in English and who do not have English as a first language or who have not completed an English language-based Master's programme (or an equivalent educational achievement in English) shall provide documentation that they have passed one of the following official tests with the respective minimum score: IELTS (band score): 7, TOEFL (paper-based): 600, TOEFL (internet-based): 100. The language test must be no more than five years old at the time of the application.
