CSIR-SASOL Foundation Bursary Program for South Africans 2025

The CSIR, in collaboration with the Sasol Foundation, provides financial support to full-time, unemployed students seeking qualifications in areas that are deemed a priority by the CSIR.

The bursary is open to academically qualifying young people and aims to attract and increase the participation of women, black individuals and people with disabilities in science, engineering and technology, specifically in the areas of study.

Eligibility Criteria for CSIR-SASOL Foundation Bursary Program for South Africans 2025

Current Grade 12 learners:

  1. South African citizen;
  2. Must intend to enroll full-time for the degree of choice at a South African public university;
  3. English (Level 5);
  4. Mathematics (Level 6); and
  5. Physical Science (Level 6).

Current university students:

  1. Must be a South African citizen;
  2. Planning to enroll full-time at a South African university for 2025; and
  3. Must have passed all registered courses for the completed study period at the university.

Documents Required for Application

The following documents must accompany your application:

  1. An updated CV;
  2. A copy of your certified identity document;
  3. A copy of your latest academic record; and
  4. A copy of the Grade 11 final year results (for current Grade 12 learners).

Failure to attach these documents will result in your application being null and void.
