Kristen Milos Medical Award at Western University Canada 2025-2026

This award was established by Dr. Paul Milos and Mrs. Barbara Milos in memory of their daughter, Kristen Milos (BSc '87) through Foundation Western and is awarded to a student entering first year of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program based on academic achievement and demonstrated financial need.

Eligibility Criteria for Kristen Milos Medical Award at Western University Canada 2025-2026

1. Awarded to a student entering first year of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program based on academic achievement and demonstrated financial need.
2. Preference will be given to students whose family address is within the borders of Essex County as verified by the Scholarship and Awards Committee of the Schulich School of Medicine.
3. In the event that Essex County students are not admitted in any one year, the geographic region will be widened to include the Tri-County area (Essex, Lambton and Chatham-Kent).
4. The recipient will continue to receive the award for up to four years provided that the recipient progresses satisfactorily and continues to demonstrate financial need each year. If the recipient fails to qualify for the award, a new student will be selected in the appropriate year.
5. Only one recipient can hold this award at any given time.
6. Candidates must complete an admission bursary application form, which is available online through Student Center, by August 1.

Selection Process

1. Once financial need is determined by the Office of the Registrar, the recipient will be selected by the Scholarship and Awards Committee of the Schulich School of Medicine.
2. The recipient will be given this award in a ceremony coincident with entry into the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.
3. In the event of a late offer, exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
4. If the recipient fails to qualify to continue the award for the full four-year term, another recipient from the same year will be selected.
