Northumbria University 2025-26 PGT International Scholarships for South Asian Applicants

Northumbria University is proud to offer the 2025/26 Postgraduate International Scholarship for South Asian Applicants, providing a £3,000 tuition fee discount to eligible students from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. This scholarship is available to self-funded international students enrolling in a full-time Postgraduate Taught (PGT) course at the university’s Newcastle Upon Tyne campus, starting in September 2025 or January 2026. With this award, Northumbria aims to support talented individuals from South Asia as they take the next step in their academic journey and prepare to #TakeOnTomorrow.

Eligibility Criteria for Northumbria University 2025-26 PGT International Scholarships for South Asian Applicants
- Have 'Overseas' Fee Status
- Be classified as an international student for fee purposes.
- Be Domiciled in South Asia
- Be residing in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, or Sri Lanka at the time of application.
- Be Self-Funded
- Pay your tuition fees independently (i.e., not sponsored by a government, company, or any other organization).
- Apply for and Be Accepted into a Full-Time Postgraduate Taught (PGT) Course
- The course must be at the Newcastle Upon Tyne campus, starting in September 2025 or January 2026.
- Meet All Course Entry Requirements
- Including academic qualifications and English language proficiency.
- Are applying for any of the excluded courses (listed below)
- Are receiving external sponsorship or funding
- Do not reside in one of the listed South Asian countries
- Have a different fee status (e.g., Home or EU)
- Advanced Practice or Study Abroad Masters courses
- MSc Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration)
- MSc Nursing Science (Adult, Child, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities)
- MSc Midwifery Studies
- MA Social Work
- Bar, Bar LLM, LLM Professional Legal Practice (SQE1)

How to Apply
- Choose an Eligible Course
- Apply for a full-time Postgraduate Taught (PGT) course at Northumbria University’s Newcastle Upon Tyne campus, starting in September 2025 or January 2026.
- Note: Some courses are excluded (see list below).
- Check Your Eligibility
- You must:
- Have an Overseas fee status
- Be domiciled in one of the following countries at the time of application:
- Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, or Sri Lanka
- Be a self-funded student (not receiving any external sponsorship)
- Meet all academic and admission requirements for your course
- Submit Your Application and Accept Your Offer
- Apply through the university’s online application system
- Once you receive your offer, accept it and complete any required steps to secure your place
- Scholarship Awarded Automatically
- If you meet all the conditions, the £3,000 scholarship will be automatically applied to your tuition fee – no separate scholarship application is needed
