The University of Warwick is awarding the AHRC Doctoral Scholarships to the most outstanding PhD applicants who are proposing a research project in the AHRC research remit.

Eligibility Criteria for AHRC Doctoral Scholarships at University of Warwick 2026-2027

Applicants must:

  1. Apply for a PhD at the University of Warwick to begin in October 2026;
  2. Be from any discipline at Warwick.
  3. Beproposing a research project in the AHRC research remit.

Scholarships cannot be deferred to the next academic year.


Benefits of AHRC Doctoral Scholarships at University of Warwick 2026-2027

  1. The full payment of tuition fees
  2. A maintenance stipend paid at the prevailing UKRI rate for 3.5 years
  3. A Research, Training and Supporting Grant (RTSG) of £5,000.

How to Apply

The University of Warwick strongly advises preparing applications well in advance, noting that it is not usually possible to complete and submit an application in less than 36 hours.

  1. Read the Applicant Guidance Notes and PGR Ranking Criteria.
  2. Submit your course application and upload supporting documents.
  3. Receive an automated e-mail with a 7-digit applicant ID number. Please allow at least 48 hours for this to arrive.
  4. Register your ITS applicant account.
  5. Submit your scholarship application by the application deadline. We regret being unable to accept late applications for any reason.
  6. Submit supporting documents by the supporting document deadline. We regret being unable to accept late supporting documents for any reason.

- Scholarship Application Deadline - 11 December 2025 16:59 (GMT)

Please note no late applications will be accepted.

Next Steps:

Results of the AHRC Doctoral Scholarship competition will be communicated through email by the start of February 2026.
