Canadian Forest Owners Christopher Lee Memorial Scholarship 2025

To honour the memory and legacy of Christopher Lee and to celebrate his innumerable contributions to the advancement of social and economic development in communities across Canada, CFO has established the Christopher Lee Memorial Scholarship.

The $2,000 scholarship will be awarded each year to a post-secondary student enrolled in a forestry-related discipline at a Canadian university, college or technical school. All applications will be considered, but preference will be given to students who excel in their field with a special interest in forest policy, advocacy and research as it relates to private forest lands in Canada.

Eligibility Criteria for Canadian Forest Owners Christopher Lee Memorial Scholarship 2025

Applicants must be Canadian citizens or international students and be registered full-time in a forestry-related program at a Canadian university, college or technical school.

Interview Dates and Process

Evaluation will be based on academic performance, with consideration given especially to those working in the field of policy and advocacy, who demonstrate a commitment and passion for the forest sector. Scholarship recipients must agree to have their names and a description of their field of study included in promotional materials.

  1. A committee composed of CFO representatives will select the recipient.
  2. The name of the recipient will be announced by August 31st of each year.

  1. Proof of registration in a Canadian forestry-related program
  2. A cover letter explaining the reason for applying for this award
  3. A curriculum vitae including contact information
  4. A reference letter from an academic supervisor or professor in support of the recipient’s achievements
