CNIB Master’s Scholarships 2025

The CNIB Master’s Scholarship program is dedicated to supporting blind, Deafblind, and low vision students across Canada in their pursuit of higher education. With a focus on academic excellence, leadership, and personal perseverance, these scholarships aim to reduce financial barriers and empower students to achieve their goals. Each year, multiple awards—including the newly established OSR Clinics Psychology Scholarships—are granted to outstanding individuals pursuing master's degrees. Whether you’re studying in Canada or abroad (with the intention to return), this opportunity could be a transformative step in your educational journey.

Eligibility Criteria for CNIB Master’s Scholarships 2025
To be eligible, you must:
- Have vision loss:
- Be blind, Deafblind, or have low vision (defined as best corrected visual acuity of 20/70 or worse and/or a visual field of 20 degrees or narrower).
- Be pursuing a Master's degree:
- You must already be a university graduate and currently enrolled in or accepted to a Master's program.
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident:
- You must be a Canadian citizen or have held landed immigrant (permanent resident) status for at least one year prior to applying.
- Demonstrate strong personal qualities, including
- Motivation and independence
- High personal achievement
- High academic standing
- Superior intellectual ability and sound judgment
- Plan to study at a university.
- You must be studying at a Canadian university or a foreign university with a commitment to return to Canada.
- Note: Preference is given to students conducting theoretical and practical research at a Canadian university.

How to Apply
Applicants must complete and submit an application form, along with
- Proof of secondary education completion (interim).
- One reference letter (academic or community source). All reference letters should be on official letterhead, professional letter format, and in an accessible format.
- Letter of acceptance from an accredited post-secondary institution, college or university.
- Transcript (interim).
- A short essay (two pages max) detailing how a CNIB scholarship will change what it means to be blind for you in your education.
- List of other sources of funding.
