Echidna Global Scholars Program 2026

The Echidna Global Scholars Visiting Fellowship 2026 at the Brookings Institution is a six-month program designed for mid-career leaders from the Global South committed to advancing gender equality in education. Scholars conduct individual research to improve learning opportunities and life outcomes for girls, young women, and gender non-conforming people.

During the fellowship, participants enhance their research, policy, and leadership skills while expanding their global impact network through the Brookings Center for Universal Education (CUE).

Eligibility Criteria for Echidna Global Scholars Program 2026

  1. Must be a mid-career professional from the Global South.
  2. Master’s degree or higher in education, development, public policy, economics, or related fields.
  3. Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in academia, NGOs, civil society, or government.
  4. Proven commitment to improving education outcomes for girls and gender equality.
  5. English language proficiency required.
  6. Submission includes a CV, cover letter, questionnaire, and a 3–5 page research proposal.
