The School of Physical Sciences at the Open University (OU) invites applications for a fully funded PhD studentship in quantum computing. This 3.5-year project offers access to cutting-edge research facilities at OU and the University of Strathclyde, with collaboration opportunities through the Oxford QCi3 Hub.

Eligibility Criteria for Full-Time PhD Studentship in Quantum Computing at The Open University (OU) 2026

  1. Applicants must meet UKRI academic eligibility requirements
  2. Minimum of a 2:1 classification in a UK BSc or MSc degree
  3. Home fee status required
  4. Background in physics, quantum computing, or a related STEM field
