Eligibility Criteria for James Gordon Fletcher PhD Fellowship 2025–2026

Through a bequest in 1999, James Gordon Fletcher (B.S.A./'25), a graduate of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences at the University of Manitoba, generously established a trust fund at the University. The purpose of the fund is to encourage doctoral students in the Faculty of Graduate Studies to conduct research in the areas of functional foods and nutraceuticals. Each year, the available annual income from the fund plus any unspent income, may be used to offer one or more fellowships to graduate students who:

  1. are enrolled full-time in both the Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 terms in the Faculty of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies in the first or second year of study in any doctoral program;
  2. have achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.75 based on the last 60 credit hours (or equivalent) of study; and
  3. are conducting research in the areas to functional foods and nutraceuticals.
