Saint Mary’s University Entrance Awards 2026–2027

Saint Mary's offers many scholarships, bursaries and awards for new students. There are also awards that have been established with the generous support of alumni, staff, community members and businesses.

Students must have a completed undergraduate application and be accepted (or admissible) by the February 15 deadline to be considered for Entrance Awards, which includes our Presidential and Santamarian scholarships.

As Entrance Awards have been established to meet a variety of student needs, there are different eligibility criteria, such as community involvement, extracurricular activities, academic achievement or financial need. Students can fill out one application and provide supporting documentation as requested to be considered.

1. You must be a new student entering an undergraduate program at Saint Mary's University directly from high school.
2. You must have completed the undergraduate application and been accepted (or admissible) by February 15, 2026.

To be considered, students must submit the following application. Part 1 is required of all applicants, while Parts 2 and 3 are only required for students wishing to be considered for specific awards.

Part 1 (Required): General Entrance Awards

1. No supporting documents are required.

Part 2 (Optional): Financial Need-Based Entrance Awards

1. Only required if you wish to be considered for Entrance Awards that take into consideration your financial need.
2. Must submit a statement of financial need (no minimum length required, but no more than 500 words).

Part 3 (Optional): Presidential/Presidential International Baccalaureate/Santamarian Scholarships & Sobey National Innovator Scholarships

1. Only required if you wish to be considered for these specific awards, which have additional eligibility criteria.
2. Must submit a 750-word personal essay based on your community involvement, contribution to school life and plans for the future. Our Application Guide has additional hints and tips for writing your essay.
3. For the Sobey National Innovator Scholarship only, you must also submit a resume and a letter of recommendation from a high school Principal, Guidance Counsellor, or teacher.
