Titanium Chemistry PhD Studentship 2026

Loughborough University offers a fully funded PhD studentship focused on titanium chemistry and surface finishing in additive manufactured lattices. The project investigates wet chemical processes to control porosity and improve surface quality in 3D-printed titanium structures, with applications across transport, catalysis, and bioengineering.

The research integrates experimental and modelling work—including AI/ML tools—to develop innovative post-processing frameworks. Students will gain hands-on experience in design of experiments, data analysis, materials characterization, and modelling, supported by the University’s multidisciplinary research facilities.
