In celebration of 125 years of University status, the University of Birmingham is offering £5,000 scholarships to international students commencing their taught Master’s degree in September 2025 or January 2026.

This milestone award supports outstanding international students who wish to pursue their postgraduate studies at a Russell Group university with a global reputation for excellence.

No separate application is required; eligible students will have the scholarship automatically deducted from their tuition fees once they accept their offer and pay their admission deposit.

Eligibility Criteria for University of Birmingham 125th Anniversary Scholarships 2025/26

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. You must apply for and receive an offer to study a taught Master's degree at the University of Birmingham (UK campus) starting in September 2025 or January 2026.
  2. You must be domiciled in one of the selected countries listed below.
  3. You must be classified as an overseas fee payer by the University for tuition purposes.
  4. You must start your studies in September 2025 or January 2026 on a full-time programme delivered at the University’s UK campus.
  5. All Birmingham Business School programmes are eligible. The 125th Anniversary Scholarship is available for all postgraduate taught Masters programmes delivered by Birmingham Business School. This also includes the MBA, MSc Management, MSc Marketing, and MSc International Business. These four programmes were previously excluded but have been included in the scheme as of 7 April 2025. The scholarship will also be applied retrospectively to eligible offer holders who received offers for these four programmes prior to this date. The University reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship offer to new applicants and offer holders at any time, so early application is advised. Please check the website regularly for updates.
  6. Students in receipt of a full tuition fee scholarship from an external organisation are not eligible. If the University becomes aware that a student is fully sponsored by a third-party organisation (i.e., an organisation is providing a scholarship covering 100% of tuition fees), the student will be disqualified from receiving the 125th Anniversary Scholarship. If the scholarship has already been awarded, it will be withdrawn. Please ensure you accurately declare your funding source during enrolment.

  2. Receive an offer of admission for September 2025 or January 2026.

  5. Maintain registration and follow the university's payment terms to keep the scholarship.
