University of Liverpool International Slavery Studies Scholarships 2025

The School of Histories, Languages and Cultures are offering two scholarships to Black British students in 2025/26. The scholarships are open to students applying for the MA in International Slavery Studies at the University.

Eligibility Criteria for University of Liverpool International Slavery Studies Scholarships 2025

Please check your eligibility before considering this scholarship. Awards may be withdrawn if we later become aware that successful students have not met the eligibility criteria or have provided false information.

Applicants must satisfy all of the following criteria to be considered for the scholarship:

  1. You must be of Black ethnicity (including Black British, Black African, Black Caribbean or dual heritage backgrounds)
  2. Permanently reside in the UK
  3. You must have been assessed for fee status as a ‘home’ student, or expect to be assessed as a ‘home student’
  4. Be applying for the MA in International Slavery Studies programme, to commence study in 2025/26, on either a full-time or part-time basis.


Benefits of University of Liverpool International Slavery Studies Scholarships 2025

The scholarship will be open to two students in the 2025/26 academic year and will cover the full cost of tuition fees and a £10,000 bursary.

The School of Histories, Languages and Cultures is committed to delivering reparative actions to address barriers to representation across all academia. We have a number of funding opportunities available as part of this action. Please indicate on your application if you wish to be considered for any of these opportunities.

All scholarship applicants will receive notification of the outcome of their scholarship application separately from the outcome of their application for a place on the MA programme.
