WEMA Bank Hackaholics for Nigerian Entrepreneurs (200 Million Naira in Cash Prizes)

Hackaholics is Wema Bank’s open innovation challenge, designed to empower problem-solvers, startups, and tech enthusiasts. This year, they are introducing two exciting tracks:
- The Hackathon—where developers and tech teams build innovative solutions in a fast-paced coding competition.
- The Startup Pitch Competition—A platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their groundbreaking ideas to investors and industry experts.
Challenge Areas
1. Fraud Detection
Financial fraud is evolving rapidly, making it challenging for banks to detect and prevent fraudulent activities in real time.
2. Customer Experience
Modern banking customers expect seamless, personalized, and instant banking experiences across digital and physical touchpoints.
3. Onboarding & Acquisition
Many customers abandon the onboarding process due to lengthy verification steps, poor user experience, or lack of guidance.
