Standard Chartered Futuremakers Women in Technology Program 2025($10,000 catalytic grant )

The Futuremakers Women in Tech (WiT) Uganda Program is a transformative initiative designed to empower women-led, tech, and tech-enabled businesses. The program is an initiative of Standard Chartered Foundation in partnership with Standard Chartered Bank, Village Capital, and The Innovation Village and implemented by Future Lab.
By placing women at the forefront of technological innovation, the program helps bridge the gender gap in Uganda’s tech industry, fostering inclusive economic growth. More than just an accelerator, it drives business success, job creation, and economic resilience in marginalized communities.
The program equips women entrepreneurs with business training, mentorship, and seed funding, creating a thriving ecosystem of women-led businesses that fuel innovation, diversity, and economic development in Uganda.
Eligibility Criteria for Standard Chartered Futuremakers Women in Technology Program 2025($10,000 catalytic grant )
The program seeks applications from ambitious, impact-driven women entrepreneurs who are leveraging technology to solve real-world problems. To qualify for the program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Women-led Business: At least one female co-founder actively involved full-time.
- Registered in Uganda: Legally incorporated and operating in Uganda.
- Small-scale Business: The business must employ fewer than 10 people and have an annual turnover of less than USD 100,000.
- Business Stage: The business should be at the market validation phase, having a minimum viable product (MVP) and some form of validation—this could include revenue, user adoption, successful pilots, or strategic partnerships.
- Tech Orientation: The business must be tech-based or tech-enabled, using digital innovation as a key driver of the business model.
- Impact Alignment: The business must contribute toward at least one Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), including but not limited to decent job creation, poverty reduction, gender equality, climate adaptation, or access to essential services.

- April 17, 2025: Applications Open
- May 30, 2025: Application Deadline
- June 2 – June 4, 2025: Review and Shortlisting
- June 5 – June 6, 2025: Final Interviews and Selection
- June 11, 2025: Cohort Announcement
- June 12, 2025: Program Kickoff
- June 16 – Aug 15, 2025: Acceleration Bootcamp
- July 16 – August 15, 2025: Mentorship & Coaching
- August 28, 2025: Demo Day and Graduation
- September 8 – September 19, 2025: Roadshow
