University of Edinburgh School of Mathematics Masters Scholarships 2025

The School of Mathematics is offering a number of scholarships for students applying to study a master's program in mathematics. These scholarships cover up to 50% of the programme fee. These awards will be based on academic merit and available to applicants domiciled in the eligible countries.
Eligibility Criteria for University of Edinburgh School of Mathematics Masters Scholarships 2025
- The scholarships will be awarded to new applicants who have applied for admission to a postgraduate taught Masters programme of study in the School of Mathematics commencing in September 2025.
- Both applicants for full-time and part-time study programmes are eligible for this award.
- Students who are domiciled in any of the following countries are eligible to apply for the scholarship:
- United Kingdom (i.e. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland)
- All EU countries
- Canada
- India
- Iran
- Malaysia
- Mexico
- Thailand
- Turkey
- United States of America
- Selection Criteria
- The scholarships are competitive and based on academic merit. Applicants must have, or expect to obtain, the equivalent of a UK first class or 2:1 Honours degree at the undergraduate level. See international entry requirements here.

Benefits of University of Edinburgh School of Mathematics Masters Scholarships 2025
Scholarships will be offered as either:
- 50% discount on programme fees
or
- 25% discount on programme fees
Scholarships will be paid directly towards programme fees, and the level of discount offered will be based on academic merit.
How to Apply
The scholarships have two selection rounds. The deadline for the first selection round is 1st April 2025, and the deadline for the second selection round is 2nd June 2025. You can apply to the scholarship only once per admissions cycle.
Eligible applicants should complete an online scholarship application.
You do not need to wait until you have received an offer in order to begin the scholarship application process.
In order to gain access to the scholarship application system, applicants must have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh. Please note that following the submission of an application for admission, it can take up to five working days for all system checks to be completed and for access to be granted.
The online scholarship application form is located in EUCLID and can be accessed via MyEd, our web-based information portal, at https://www.myed.ed.ac.uk

Students applying in the first selection round will be notified of the outcome of their application by the end of April. Students applying in the second selection round will be notified of the outcome of their application by the end of June.
