Eligibility Criteria for University of Stirling The Reid Family Scholarship (Widening Participation) 2025/2026

Applications will be considered from potential students who:

  1. have been living in Scotland for at least 5 years;
  2. are the first generation in their family to attend higher education study;
  3. have an offer at the University of Stirling for 2025/26 September entry or 2026 Jan (PG only);
  4. are not in receipt of any other scholarship or funding (not including SAAS).

and come from at least one of the following backgrounds:

  1. You are from a priority postcode area (check your postcode).
  2. You are involved in the Schools for Higher Education Programme (Aspire North, Focus West, LEAPS and Lift Off).
  3. You are a care-experienced student.
  4. You are a young or adult carer.
  5. You are an estranged student.
  6. You are a student on the University of Stirling Access to Degree Studies Programme.
  7. You are a student on a SWAP access course (Scottish Wider Access Programme).

Successful applicants will receive £9,000-£21,525.

The scholarships being awarded are:

  1. Undergraduate Widening Participation Scholarship;
  2. Postgraduate Master's Widening Participation Scholarship.
