The University of Nairobi together with the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists is offering up to three 12-month Paediatric Anaesthesia Fellowship positions starting in September/October 2025
Applications are now invited for scholarships for these positions. The successful applicants will receive funding to cover tuition, accommodation, and subsistence living expenses.
Fellows will be based at the Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi and will also rotate through various hospitals with active pediatric surgical programs. There is a robust didactic teaching programme that includes an online learning platform with facilitators from all over the world.
All applicants must be Physician anaesthesiologists who are registered doctors/medical practitioners in their country of origin and eligible for registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council. In addition to the WFSA application, it will be mandatory to apply directly to the University of Nairobi. This is an online application, and any clarification regarding the process can be sought from the course coordinator.
Preference will be given to early-career anesthesiologists who are working in Kenya, as well as Central and Eastern African countries. However, more experienced anesthesiologists and those working in other African countries may apply, and the selection panel will consider each applicant’s place of work and other factors when making its decision.
