Fully Funded WFSA Scholarships for the World Congress of Anaesthesiologists (WCA) 2026 in Morocco

The 19th World Congress of Anaesthesiologists will take place in Marrakech, Morocco, from 15-19 April 2026. WCA is the only truly global anesthesiology congress, representing 130+ countries and offering a diverse scientific programme with 20 focused tracks tailored to sub-specialties in anesthesiology and critical care.

Eligibility Criteria for WFSA Scholarships for the World Congress of Anaesthesiologists (WCA) 2026

Applicants must be:

1. Anaesthesiologists who have completed their training within the last five years
2. Be members of their National Society of Anaesthesiologists
3. Be from a low- or middle-income country.
4. Have at least a basic understanding of English to ensure full engagement during the congress.
5. Be a first-time scholarship recipient (i.e., not having previously received a WFSA scholarship)

Required Documents:

1. Curriculum vitae/resume.
2. A letter of motivation.
3. Medical degree certificate.
4. Anaesthesia qualification certificate.
5. A letter of recommendation from your workplace.
6. A letter of recommendation from your National Anaesthesiology Society.
7. A copy of your passport biodata page (must be valid at least until October 2026)

Preference will be given to

1. Early-career anesthesiologists.
2. Applicants working in teaching hospitals.
3. Applicants who have submitted an abstract for WCA2026.
4. Applicants are strongly encouraged to present their scholarly project at the congress. Abstracts must be submitted on the WCA website before 30 September 2025.

All applications must be submitted on AwardForce by 20 April 2025.

A panel made up of WFSA and sponsor representatives will evaluate all applications. Successful applicants will be notified by September 2025 and must confirm their intention to accept the scholarship within five days of notification. Failure to confirm acceptance within this period will result in the scholarship being offered to the next eligible applicant.
