ECU–University of Portsmouth (UoP) Joint PhD Scholarship 2026

The ECU–UoP Joint PhD Program is open to prospective PhD candidates across all disciplines, yet prioritization will be given to research conducted in the fields of defense, Cyber Security and Criminology. Through the current scholarship scheme, one PhD scholarship will be available each year from each host university for five years, starting in 2026. Candidates will be jointly supervised and have access to the research expertise, infrastructure, and support services of both ECU and UoP. ECU and UoP will each advertise scholarships throughout this program. Applicants should only apply to the scholarship at one institution.

Eligibility Criteria for ECU–University of Portsmouth (UoP) Joint PhD Scholarship 2026

To be considered, applicants must:

  1. Have been made an offer of a place in an ECU Higher Degree by PhD or Integrated PhD research course.*
  2. Apply for one of the research projects advertised for this scholarship.
  3. Obtain endorsement from their Principal Supervisor to apply.
  4. Be able to commence the course and scholarship from July 2026.

*If course admission applications have been submitted prior to the scholarship closing date but not assessed or approved prior to scholarship ranking, applications will be considered but applicants will only be provided a conditional scholarship offer, if successful.
