University of Sheffield GEMS Undergraduate Scholarship 2026

The University of Sheffield is offering the GEMS Scholarship 2026 for high-achieving students currently studying in GEMS schools in the UAE, Qatar, or Egypt. This competitive undergraduate award provides up to £17,500 for the duration of the degree, with £10,000 applied in the first year and £2,500 in subsequent years. Applicants must hold an offer to study at the University of Sheffield and begin their course in September 2026. All undergraduate courses are eligible except Medicine (A100/A101) and Dentistry (A200).

Eligibility Criteria for University of Sheffield GEMS Undergraduate Scholarship 2026

1. You must commence your studies of an undergraduate degree at the University of Sheffield in September 2026. All undergraduate degree courses are included except for Medicine (A100/A101) and Dentistry (A200).
2. You must choose the University of Sheffield as your firm or insurance choice before 4.00 pm (UK time) on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.
3. You must be currently studying at a GEMS School at the point of application.

Selection process

This is a competitive process and not all applications will be successful. A panel of senior members of university staff will select the strongest applications and will be looking for the following:

1. Applicant has given examples of achievements which represent excellence and initiative in educational, voluntary, or extracurricular areas.
2. Applicant has shown how these achievements relate to the course they have applied for at the University of Sheffield and connected that to their future ambitions.
3. Applicant has a strong academic profile.

How to Apply

Apply for a GEMS Scholarship

To access the application form you will need to use your MUSE for applicants log in details (these will be sent to you shortly after you receive your course offer).

The deadline to apply is 1pm (UK time) on Monday, 16 Feb 2026.

Successful applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 16 March and will need to accept the scholarship by 4pm (UK time) on Monday 20 April 2026 or the scholarship will be offered to another applicant.
