Eligibility Criteria for Arthur L. Irving Family Foundation Scholarships at Acadia University 2026

  1. Secondary school graduation with strong academic credential, presenting a minimum cumulative average of 90%;
  2. Demonstrated passion for the environment;
  3. A history of leadership, community service and extracurricular activities;
  4. Selected candidates must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s program at Acadia University.

How to Apply

Each candidate is expected to submit:

• Cover letter

• Resume

• In addition, each candidate should submit a 500-word essay. The essay provides an opportunity to describe both the applicant’s interest in environmental study and the value environmental study has in making a significant difference to the world. Selected candidates will be interviewed by a review panel that will include Acadia University President Jeff Hennessy; Mark Mallory, Professor of Biology and Director of Research at the K.C. Irving Environmental Science Centre; Sarah Hines, Coordinator of the Irving Scholar Program; and the Trustees of the Arthur Irving Foundation.
